Michael Anthony McCoy (born September 23, 1991), a performer under the stage name Chosen One, is an American Hip Hop artist, R&B singer and songwriter from Atlanta, GA. As an Indie artist, he has been identified as a hot phenomenon by the author of 1CCU Media Magazine and noted by California’s KFox57 Radio as “Artist on the Come up.”
Pursuing his career as a solo artist with a street cockiness that is firmly backed by his talent, he’s currently working on his second mixtape titled, “Shoulda Been an Album.” Quoted from 1CCU Media Magazine, “Chosen has a distinct freestyle flow and deliverance that is amazingly magnetic and virtually seducing. He writes and produces songs with a certain clever appeal that has a unique style new to the entertainment world.” He labels his rap style as “unidentified” simply, because there is no one that sounds like him or his music.
Chosen began recognizing his talent as a rapper during high school and community freestyle battles. He knew his life’s purpose was to create songs that everyone would love. He owes much of his musical influences to some of today’s hottest rappers such as T.I, Jay Z and Young Jeezy.
In 2009 Chosen began his career with a group called 3MG, made up of himself and the highly sought after hit making beat slayer, Kendrick Brown aka “K-Major” of Atlanta, GA. He has had the opportunity to collaborate or work with some of the industry’s hottest artists such as Juney Boomdata, Young Dro, Yung Joc, Dem Franchize Boyz, Trey Songz and many more. The former group produced over 75 tracks receiving almost 600,000 hits as well as plays collectively between two major social networking and music promotional sites plus over 5,000 purchased downloads. They released two popular singles, “I’m Famous” and “Fantasy,” featuring Slip-N-Slide Records recording artist, Swazy Baby and they were played on airwaves that span across the globe—from the US and South America to Africa, Germany, Japan, Australia, and beyond. The fan base continued to grow as they began their state-to-state promotional tours and regional performances. With the dedication of giving his audience 150% and the release of his first solo mixtape “My Way of Life,” Chosen’s fan base grew high in the South.
